Homemade Body Lotion & Lip Balm

I know, this is suppose to be a food blog, but I am sure some of you will enjoy this post. For Christmas I made several bath products to give to the women in my life. This included lavender bath salts, grapefruit sugar scrubs, whipped body lotion, and vanilla mint lip balm.  The first to are pretty easy, the latter two are a little more tricky. So lets get started.

Pumpkin Seeds

PumpkinSeeds-1One of my favorite parts of fall has nothing to do with pumpkin spice lattes, even though that is a fun perk.  It has to do with snacking on pumpkin seeds.  Yes I am a big snacker, I will admit it, I love anything that is salty and has a crunch to it. Does that make me a horrible person? Probably not, but I have a hard time controlling myself. I rarely keep snacks in the house because I can devour a whole bag in one sitting. But these little guys only happen when I buy a pumpkin, which is only a couple of times a year, so I say SNACK ON!

Pumpkin Banana Swirl Bread (Paleo, Grain Free, Dairy Free and Gluten Free)

Raise your hand if you like pumpkin bread? Now what about banana bread? Well why not have both, together!  This quick bread turned out better than I thought it would.  I made a half batch of each batter and swirled them together in a bread pan. Unfortunately there wasn’t a huge difference between the two batters, I think that is because of the almond that is in both batters.  If this was a normal (by normal I mean made with white flour) quick bread, I think the pumpkin bread would have really stood out. But not big deal, it still tasted wonderful. Continue reading
